CROSSOVER NETWORKING DAY

Date: 21 May 2009
Venue: ELECTRIC WORKS, SHEFFIELD DIGITAL CAMPUS, SHEFFIELD

The Crossover Networking Day was for all Crossover alumni, mentors, commissioners, visitors and funders to mingle, meet and share ideas. In the last few years around 300 people have shared the unique experience that is Crossover. Labs have been run in the UK, Australia, Canada and Scandinavia. There is a strong sense of community at the end of each lab and we believe that the Crossover network can become an important focus for an international community reinventing media for the digital age. The Networking Day was a chance for the alumni to get together and brainstorm how to continue to work together and make the most of being part of the Crossover network.

Commissioning the Future

Commissioning The Future is the new European training initiative for commissioning editors and funders, developed by Crossover (UK) in partnership with Documentary Campus (Germany) and Sheffield Doc/Fest (UK).

We strongly believe that it is vital to train the decision-makers in order for the convergent marketplace to really thrive. Therefore we have developed this new European training course offering three five-day long creative and commercial innovation labs, focused on commissioning for the emerging convergent digital media ecology.
